i do this too in my songwriting 😭 i ended up falling for a guy way too similar to my ex recently and i’m still recovering. i feel like sometimes we ignore the red flags we see in someone for the sake of familiarity 😀
“for the sake of familiarity” is soooooo true. in my case, i tried going for someone who was the complete opposite of my ex on a surface level but as time went on i realized they were sooooo similar… scary!!!!

But as someone twice your age (who still has the heart of a 20-something!), I can tell you that when you find the right person, you'll be grateful for all the relationships that didn't work out. If they don't feel you're the one, it may be for good reason. Because HE is still around the corner somewhere, and you'll meet at the right time, whenever that it. Till then, always hold tight to your own sense of self and self-love, and keep doing your thing! Sending tons of love and light.
